JAPAN: Social Work & Human Services
Students from Charles Sturt University’s School of Social Work and Arts and Central Queensland University’s School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Sciences joined a study tour in Japan focused on social welfare. Through workshops, seminars, site visits, and cultural activities, they explored local social welfare systems, social justice issues, and cultural contexts. Students collaborated with Japanese social work peers and visited community agencies, gaining practical experience in social welfare, disaster response, and resilience while enhancing intercultural understanding. |
MALDIVES: Exercise & Sport Science
Students from the University of Newcastle’s School of Biomedical Sciences and Pharmacy completed a placement program in the Maldives focused on sport and exercise. Living within the local community, they delivered programs for healthy participants, including swim coaching, sports camps, bootcamps, and personal training. Students completed 100 hours of supervised practical activities, gaining hands-on experience in exercise assessment, prescription, and program delivery. |
