Featured Program Showcase
PERU: Spanish Language
Students from the School of Humanities, Languages and Social Science at Griffith University travelled to Cusco for an immersive Spanish language and culture study tour. Combining daily language classes with hands-on cultural experiences, students applied their skills in real-world contexts. Highlights included a Peruvian cooking class preparing Lomo Saltado, meetings with local entrepreneurs, a historical walking tour of Qorikancha, salsa dancing, visits to Saqsayhuamán and local textile communities, and a weekend excursion to the iconic Machu Picchu. |
MALAYSIA: Indigenous Knowledges
In partnership with Wirltu Yarlu Aboriginal Education at University of Adelaide, students participated in a study tour focused on Indigenous cultures in Malaysia. Students engaged with Indigenous communities to explore ecological knowledge, land management practices, and perspectives on health, sustainability, and land rights. The tour enhanced students’ understanding of Malaysian Indigenous knowledge, strengthened intercultural and leadership skills, expanded professional networks, and provided insights into applying Indigenous knowledge to contemporary societal and environmental challenges. |
