CAMBODIA: International Business MBA
MBA students from Edith Cowan University and the School of Business and Law participated in an International Business Study Tour to Cambodia. The tour provided students with hands-on exposure to social enterprises, NGOs, and local businesses, alongside culturally immersive experiences including a village stay and a community development project. Students spent time in both urban and rural settings, gaining a well-rounded understanding of Cambodia’s cultural, social, and business environments. The experience supported the development of cross-cultural awareness, critical thinking, and an understanding of global business challenges and trends.

JAPAN: Business
Students from Macquarie University and the Macquarie Business School participated in a study tour in Japan focused on business analysis. In collaboration with Tokyo Metropolitan University, students worked in teams to address real-world business challenges. They applied analytical methodologies to evaluate complex problems, developed practical solutions both individually and collaboratively, and presented their findings to diverse stakeholders through written and oral presentations. The program offered valuable hands-on experience, strengthened teamwork and communication skills, and deepened students’ understanding of contemporary business practice within an international context. |
INDONESIA & SINGAPORE: Architecture
Students from the School of Architecture and Built Environment at Queensland University of Technology participated in a study tour focused on culturally immersive architectural experiences in Indonesia and Singapore. The tour included collaborative projects with Universitas Indonesia, visits to local architecture firms, and guided city tours. In Singapore, students took part in walking tours, gallery visits, and a cultural cooking experience. The study tour was completed for academic credit as part of unit ABB301 and supported the development of critical problem-solving, reflective practice, and cross-cultural capabilities essential for emerging professionals. |
SINGAPORE: Architecture
Western Sydney University students from the School of Engineering, Design & Built Environment, participated in a study tour exploring architectural projects and public housing in Singapore. The program introduced students to Singapore’s unique Housing & Development Board (HDB) housing models, modern architecture, and urban planning. Students documented recurring spatial patterns in HDB developments, focusing on shared and interstitial spaces that challenge conventional notions of public and private—material that contributed to an exhibition at Western Sydney University. The tour offered hands-on insight into the intersection of design, social policy, and cultural context in contemporary housing. |
