ITALY: Art
Griffith University students took part in an immersive Art Study Tour in Venice, where they engaged with the Venice Biennale and other globally significant galleries and design institutions. The program deepened students’ understanding of international contemporary art, curatorial practice, and the global art scene. Through guided visits, academic discussions and cultural exploration, students developed critical thinking, visual literacy, and a broader appreciation of artistic expression in a global context. |
FINLAND & ESTONIA: Arts, Design & Education
Students from the University of Canberra’s Faculties of Arts & Design and Education joined a study tour in Finland exploring education and creative practice. They engaged in professional learning at University of Jyväskylä, museum visits, artist talks, and cultural sites across Jyväskylä, Kuopio, Helsinki, Tampere, and Tallinn. The program developed skills in collaboration, creativity, and technology integration, enhancing students’ cultural intelligence, critical analysis of international arts education, and professional communication in diverse contexts. |
JAPAN: Architecture
Students from the University of Canberra’s Faculty of Arts and Design completed a 21-day study tour of Japan, visiting Tokyo, Kanazawa, Kyoto, Uno, and Naoshima. They explored works by Kengo Kuma, Tadao Ando, Hitoshi Abe, and Toyo Ito through curated museum and site visits. Cultural and urban experiences complemented academic study, enhancing understanding of Japanese architectural practice, urban contexts, and the relationship between culture, place, and the built environment. |
CHINA: Fashion & Textiles
Students from Flinders University joined a study tour in China and Hong Kong exploring fashion, costume, and textiles. They visited industry and academic sites, including Australian Wool Innovation and Donghua University, as well as traditional textile communities and museums. Highlights included sourcing materials at the Guangzhou Zhongda Fabric Market. Students studied offshore sourcing, traditional and contemporary practices, sustainability in fashion, and global approaches to design and production. |
