Cannot recommend the July in Costa Rica program highly enough. Learning Spanish, living with a local family, eating the local food and exploring the country – such a wonderful experience. Costa Rica is such a beautiful, diverse country. You won’t stop being pleasantly surprised.

July in San Jose, Costa Rica

There were many highlights that I experienced during the program. All of the game drives were incredible as there were plenty of opportunities to sight a range of animals South Africa has to offer. Put your hand up to do everything, even the manual work, as you will certainly gain something from every experience and have a great time while doing so. You will also get to meet many great people from all over the world.

I had the best 3 weeks ever. Gained so much insight into the people of Cambodia. [It was] very touching to see how they live their lives.

Teaching and Community Development in Cambodia

Just do it. It was a great experience and I enjoyed every second of it. A well-rounded program that allowed us to gain a great insight into Cambodian life, culture and history whilst giving us chances to develop a range of teaching and travel skills. You do not have to be studying teaching to enjoy this program. All the staff were extremely approachable, friendly, willing to assist us in any way, and ensured we were all happy and gaining as much from the trip as possible.

Teaching and Community Development in Cambodia

Do it! Most eye opening experience. I learnt so much about myself and what I’m capable of. Learning from the women about their past lives really made me appreciate life back at home more than ever. Also made me appreciate the simple things in life. You won’t regret it.

Rural Community Development in Nepal

DO IT. [The best part of the program was] making friends and being given the opportunity to explore somewhere new.

July in Boston, USA

The best part was coming upon the elephants one afternoon on a game drive. We had just about given up trying to find them and were heading back when we turned the corner and there they all were. They came so close to the car and the best part was seeing the baby that was only a couple of days old stumbling around on his unsteady legs with his trunk waving all around. It was amazing to see and I couldn’t stop smiling.

Big Five Wildlife Management and Conservation in South Africa

Do it!!! Get out of your comfort zone and go for it. It may be different at first and you may miss home or your routine but the experience is invaluable and you will definitely grow as a person. Meeting new people and the friendships that were created [was the best part].

July in London, England

There were so many exciting travel experiences that I had while being in Kuala Lumpur. The best part was simply having the opportunity to explore another part of the world. Having the chance to also work in the chosen country allowed me to learn and grow as a person to become more open minded. I loved my work placement, and the opportunity to make a lot of new friends.

Intern in Malaysia

It is amazing. The kids are so beautiful. Helping a community of women build their community and teaching the children English were some of the best parts. Nepal was such a life-changing experience for me. It is 100% worth going.

Rural Community Development in Nepal

[The best parts of the program were] getting up close with wildlife, feeling as though I was making a useful contribution, making great friendships with the staff and other volunteers, [and] having once in a lifetime experiences.

Big Five Wildlife Management and Conservation in South Africa

Do it. This experience has been one of the greatest of my life so far and I am so happy that I have come home with life skills and a better ability to communicate with other cultures… This program exceeded all of my preconceived expectations. There was a good balance between lectures, site visits, learning about traditional Thai culture and volunteering… I have seen a new side of Thailand that I did not get to see in my two previous trips there and am already excited to go back. I think that the study/volunteer has been my favourite way of visiting a country as you actually feel immersed and welcomed in the culture. It is nice not to feel like a tourist. Leadership and Cultural Development in Thailand

I was really nervous before going on this trip as I hadn’t been overseas by myself before… But it turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life! I needed something that would make me set out of my comfort zone and this trip was the perfect thing for that. My advice would be to take the jump off the deep end and step outside your comfort zone and enjoy every moment and take every opportunity that presents itself.

Leadership and Cultural Development in Thailand

Go for it! You have loads of support and everyone here is super lovely. There are heaps of different classes to chose from, and in my experience my teacher was super lovely. Be open to trying new things and meeting new people. Definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity.

July in London, England

DO IT!! If you’re given the opportunity to study overseas, don’t hesitate and apply. It’s an experience you will forever remember. You meet other students from across the globe on the same learning curve as you. It’s a learning method you can’t receive from reading a textbook, and you will absolutely love it.

July on Vancouver Island, Canada

Went to the program hoping to have fun while getting some uni credits. Came out of it with life changing ideas and career guidance from different scientists doing amazing jobs there. It’s worth it! …Loved travelling across Costa Rica and seeing all the sights through the marine biology course. Take your time to take it all in. There is so much to see and appreciate. Connect with the host families. It’s a cultural treasure. You learn so much from them. This was an eye opening, inspiring and enriching experience.

January in San Jose, Costa Rica

Accommodation Services has worked closely with CISaustralia since 2013 in offering our residential student population the opportunity to participate in short term community outreach and academic programs across a variety of overseas destinations. CISaustralia emerged as our ideal option and preferred partner – largely attributable to the variety of programs and destinations on offer (both with a volunteer and academic focus), the reasonable costs involved, and their clear understanding of both student interests and university requirements. Having now worked with CISaustralia since this time, we have been delighted with the fast, efficient and effective service they have provided. I would not hesitate to recommend CISaustralia [in] offering such fantastic (and important!) opportunities.

Just do it! Was amazing experience, loved it! All staff and teachers were knowledgeable and helped us receive a true Italian experience.

July in Florence, Italy

Prepare for a fast paced work ethic, explore as much as you can around office hours, prepare questions and study the companies before the business visits, and just do it! [The best part was] being able to explore NYC in depth, being able to meet some really cool and influential companies/people, being able to work on actual real business/companies. I really liked my time and experience on the program. I think it was really worthwhile and I did learn a lot. I really love NYC and enjoyed feeling like I lived here for a while.

Industry Immersion Program – New York City, USA

I believe everyone should travel or study abroad. It really opens your mind to the world and you become a global citizen. Understanding different customs and cultures helps us to understand those who are different to ourselves. [Click here to read more about Melanie’s experience!]

July in Tokyo, Japan

Do it! A virtual internship has been the best way to immerse myself in another culture during the current pandemic. It has also given me something to do in my spare time during lockdown. I have learnt so many new skills that I will continue to use for many years into the future. Spending the last 8 weeks interning virtually have allowed me to grow significantly in my knowledge and confidence in my chosen area of study. I will be recommending a CISaustralia virtual internship to any of my friends who are looking to participate in one!
