Welcome University of Newcastle Students

CISaustralia is proud to support The University of Newcastle and their students. CISaustralia and The University of Newcastle signed a formal partnership agreement in 2014 and ever since have worked closely to send qualified UON students abroad, on many different programs to many different locations. This partnership enables students greater access to our overseas programs and ensures they have the best possible experience abroad! We are very proud of our close and long-standing partnership with UON. We take great pleasure in providing high-quality customer service and in supporting both students and academic staff to develop long-term sustainable programs abroad, which are most importantly for academic credit.

It is an amazing experience, do it! You’ll meet awesome people, see and experience so many different things and also be getting credit for university. Honestly studying has never been more enjoyable. I really loved the aspect of being part of the CIS program group. Stoked that I went and I am greatly appreciative for the opportunity enabled through CISaustralia.

July in San Jose, Costa Rica

I am grateful for the personalised support that was provided to me by CISaustralia. They were contactable the whole way through my internship, and I was never made to feel like “a small fish in a big sea”. They knew who I was, personally, throughout all of the application process and international program, and they provided ongoing support before, during and after my internship was completed.

Intern in Malaysia

The best part of my program was having the opportunity to experience an international workplace. I learnt so many valuable skills. It’s an invaluable experience.

Intern in China

24/7 outstanding support aided me in everything from taxis to shopping to flights. My placement company was excellent and I gained significant personal and professional development as a result. [Some of the best parts were] standing at a peak on the Great Wall, visiting the Terracotta Warriors, seeing the fireworks on the streets during Chinese New Year, and meeting people from all over the world during networking events.

Intern in China

DO IT!…… it’s worth it! It was an invaluable experience. I just loved the whole thing. I had such a great time [and] I wish I had an extra year of uni so I could do another course with CISaustralia!!

Intern in Spain

I valued the chance to study French in a French speaking country. The country was beautiful, and it was a great experience. The group became quite close too.

July in Noumea, New Caledonia

For me, [the best part] was the moment I stopped being so petrified of speaking French. I still have a long way to go, but I can understand more and I’ve obviously improved over the three weeks and it’s amazing to see how far one can come in such a short amount of time. My advice would be to jump right in. Immerse yourself in a new culture and new language and see how far you come. The only regret you would have is if you didn’t do it.

January in Noumea, New Caledonia

GOOO!!! There was nothing I didn’t enjoy. Even the essays were kinda fun!

July in Stirling, Scotland

The experience of living in another culture for four weeks was just so eye opening in terms of diversity and the people I met whilst there. It provided me with the clarity and confidence to pursue anything I wish to do. In turn creating some of the best friendships and connections whilst I was abroad. Being able to immerse myself within the daily life of Barcelona, just showed how I can adapt and apply myself to anything. I definitely have returned home with the determination to pursue work overseas in the near future. Getting out of my comfort zone allowed me to see the opportunities that are beyond Australia.

Intern in Spain

The people I met and will never forget [was the best part]. I now have friends all over the world. Go on every excursion, go out with everyone, never miss an opportunity and study in between!

July in Stirling, Scotland

I really enjoyed this program, and everyone from CIS were really helpful. [The school] was an absolute highlight of the trip. It had a fantastic atmosphere, and was an amazing place to learn French. Our teacher was really helpful and lovely. The site itself was beautiful, with old colonial buildings and a gorgeous outlook over the lagoon. Speak as much French as you can, to whoever you can. Be flexible and adaptable. Get out there and explore and have fun.

July in Noumea, New Caledonia

[CISaustralia] provided a level of personal support to the students that I just would not have been able to manage on my own. This was such an amazing experience for me as a teacher, and for the students, because of their professionalism and caring approach. Thank you CISaustralia.

JUST DO IT. Besides the class and the college experience, exploring a new city and country [was the best part]. Had the time of my life 🙂

January in Los Angeles, USA at UCLA Extension

CIS have been amazing every step of the way. The excursions were great and helped me immerse myself in the local culture and learn more about the country I was studying in. The course itself was great, I learned a lot very quickly, and I loved the teaching style and content. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

January in Barcelona, Spain

100% do it! It was the best experience and if I had the opportunity I would go on exchange again. Experiencing college life in a different culture and the life long friends I made [were the best parts].

July in Los Angeles, USA at UCLA

Just do it, it is literally the best experience you can have and you will make lifelong friends. The program completely changed my perception on the world and working with other cultures so it is priceless. Everything was so well set out and I learnt extremely valuable tools in terms of learning to work with other cultures. I made some amazing friends and… the lecturers were super interesting. Overall it was just a great time.

July on Vancouver Island, Canada

A virtual internship program is a great gateway internship, particularly in a time of increasingly remote work and learning. This program enables you to meet people from different countries and life experiences and gain valuable experience researching, learning and communicating digitally.

Virtual Internship in China

Definitely recommend doing a virtual international internship during COVID times. I learned a lot about my field and was able to apply theoretical teachings from my degree to real-life projects… I think it’s essential to experience the virtual/online working environment because everyone will have to do a Zoom call at least once in their career.
