Welcome University of Canberra Students

CISaustralia is proud to support the University of Canberra and their students. CISaustralia and the University signed a formal partnership agreement in 2014 and ever since have worked closely to send qualified UC students abroad, on many different programs to many different locations. This partnership enables students greater access to our overseas programs and ensures they have the best possible experience abroad! We are very proud of our close and long-standing partnership with UC. We take great pleasure in providing high-quality customer service and in supporting both students and academic staff to develop long-term sustainable programs abroad, which are most importantly for academic credit.

Pre-Approved Programs for University of Canberra Students

The following programs have been pre-approved for academic credit by The University of Canberra. To check your eligibility for academic credit, please contact the UC Abroad office, your Faculty Advisor or Course Convenor. CISaustralia strongly recommends that you have any overseas courses pre-approved for academic credit before you depart for your program. Documentation that may be useful are the course name, course code, course description and syllabus (all available from the CISaustralia website). Contact a CISaustralia Advisor if any questions.

If you find another CISaustralia program you are interested in that is not currently on the pre-approved programs list below, please contact CISaustralia. We will help direct you to the most appropriate person at your University for further advice on getting your January Study, July Study, Language Study, Internship Abroad, Virtual Internship or Volunteer program pre-approved for academic credit.

In addition to receiving academic approval from UC and being accepted by CISaustralia, students must also receive travel approval from Global Learning. Students are required to complete the Independent Short Course and Study Abroad approval form.

Please note: The following volunteer programs are pre-approved for Medical Science, Biomedical Science, Science and Environmental Science students only.

Do it. One of the most amazing experiences of my life! Will definitely be going back again! The way the program is set up, living in the community and being self-sufficient, was the best way to experience the Philippines. It was also incredible to meet the children on our placement and help in the small way that we were. So warm, friendly and welcoming. Also, meeting other volunteers from around the world and making friendships that will hopefully last a lifetime! It was truly a two-way learning experience that I hope to continue.

Community Development in the Philippines

My internship was a highlight because I got to put into practice what I had learnt back at home and also learn new things really quickly!

Intern in Malaysia

Do it! I had a very enjoyable working experience in KL and got to meet an amazing group of people I will be friends with for life. My internship taught me a lot and I have grown so much as a person. I would definitely recommend an overseas internship to anyone at university wanting to do something different that will challenge them!

Intern in Malaysia

Do it!!! The wonderful experience with Boston Uni, amazing teachers and great international student support and weekend excursions [were the best parts].

July in Boston, USA

My experience [with CIS] exceeded all expectations. The CIS team worked brilliantly with my University’s Study Abroad and Exchange Office and with me to tailor a first-rate academic and sightseeing program… I have no hesitation in recommending CIS as a first-rate partner in educational study abroad and exchange programs, and look forward to working with them again very soon.

Working with CIS… has been an absolute pleasure! From initial contact and all the way through the process of development, CIS has been highly professional, efficient and prompt, and have truly gone out of their way to ensure the program progressed smoothly. I honestly can’t recommend going through CIS to develop short-term programs highly enough!! They went above and beyond our expectations to produce a program which has generated feedback from our students such as: “a once-in-a-lifetime experience”, “the most amazing experience” and “pack[ed] with a million fun activities.”

Amazing experience. Just go for it and have a fun time! It’s the time for you to gain some independence and history of London and their culture. Meeting so many lovely people from a range of different places as well as getting to know the city lifestyle and outings [were the best parts]. A life-changing experience overall!

January in London, England

Do it! Paris is an amazing city and provides an unforgettable experience! I loved getting the chance to live in Paris for 2 weeks and fully immerse myself in the culture. The course was really enjoyable – the teachers were lovely and the content was very interesting.

July in Paris, France

Do it! It is an incredible experience. Take advantage of all the opportunities offered to you. …it ended up being one of the best experiences of my life and I learned so much. Getting to know and being inspired by the students at my placement, the [on-site] staff and other volunteers [were the best part].

Community Development in the Philippines

I enjoyed every aspect. But I especially enjoyed the cultural immersion. Just have fun, immerse yourself in the culture… enjoy the most of your time you have. Go out and explore during the weekend.

July in Tokyo, Japan

Seeing and experiencing Scotland, and the people I met [was the best part]. The [on-site] staff were really helpful and supportive… Go to the highlands, walk around Edinburgh, eat fish and chips, go to old churches and castles, meet Scottish people… absolutely do it, you won’t regret it and it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. Thanks for everything!

July in Stirling, Scotland

I had a great time! Scotland is a beautiful country, and studying there was more incredible than I imagined. The University of Stirling was everything and more! Everywhere you turn looks like a fairytale – the campus is magical! The teachers are all friendly and specialists in their fields… apply – I promise you won’t regret it!
